The acclaimed country superstar’s latest album, ‘Rockstar,’ hit the shelves on November 17.

Thanksgiving got a touch of rock ‘n’ roll this year, courtesy of Dolly Parton. Fresh from the release of her latest album, “Rockstar,” the country music icon graced the stage at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, for The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Kickoff Halftime Show during the Thanksgiving Day game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Commanders.

Parton brought high energy to her performance, donning a Cowboys cheerleader-inspired outfit that included a white vest adorned with blue stars, a daring blue crop top, and white shorts. Despite the appearance of a bare midriff, her stomach was covered with a bedazzled mesh. A crystal star adorned her belly button, and more crystals sparkled on the tights she wore.

The halftime show commenced with Parton’s timeless hit, “Jolene,” before seamlessly transitioning into another classic, “9 to 5.” To top it off, she delighted the audience with her rendition of Queen’s “We Are the Champions.”

Parton’s involvement as the halftime performer for this year’s Thanksgiving Day game was announced last month, and she expressed her honor in partnering with The Salvation Army in a press statement.

“Those Red Kettles have long been a symbol of hope for our friends and neighbors who are facing hard times,” she stated. “My goal is to encourage everyone who can to donate and support their neighbors in need. Every small act of generosity helps, and together, we can all love our neighbors this holiday season and beyond.”

The celebrated singer-songwriter unveiled her latest album, “Rockstar,” on Nov. 17. The 30-track compilation features a mix of covers, original songs, and collaborations with artists such as Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Elton John, Pink, Brandi Carlile, Melissa Etheridge, Sting, and more.

In anticipation of the album release, Parton shared her rendition of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball,” a duet with the 30-year-old pop star and her goddaughter. In an Instagram video discussing the song, Parton expressed her deep admiration for it.

“I remember the first time I heard ‘Wrecking Ball,’ it hit me the same way as it did the first time I heard ‘I Will Always Love You’ by Whitney Houston,” Parton shared in the video. “I was driving, heard that one, and I almost wrecked. And when I heard ‘Wrecking Ball,’ I almost wrecked again. I thought when it started into that chorus, ‘It hit me like a wrecking ball,’ I thought, ‘Well, how great can a song be?'”

Cyrus expressed her appreciation for the collaboration on Instagram, sharing her sentiments alongside a photo of her on stage with her godmother. “I’ve grown up covering my Aunt Dolly’s music, and it’s an honor to hear her singing one of my songs,” she wrote in the caption.

Continuing, she said, “I love you Aunt Dolly! I’m so happy to add another collaboration under our bedazzled (studded leather) belt! We’re ROCKSTARS now! You can hear so much sweetness and love on this record. Excited to share it with everyone. Forever your Doll Baby, Miley.”
